Posted

DOVER — Two Dover males, ages 20 and 16, were injured in a shooting Wednesday.

At 3:17 p.m., Dover police were called to the 100 block of Reese Street in response to gunfire, spokesperson Master Cpl. Ryan Schmid said. Prior to their arrival, the 20-year-old victim left for Bayhealth Hospital, Kent Campus in Dover for treatment of a gunshot wound to his lower body, authorities said.

Officers located shell casings at the scene and were notified of the second victim, who had moved to the 700 block of Slaughter Street, Cpl. Schmid said.

The 16-year-old had also been shot in the lower body and was transported to Bayhealth in Dover for treatment, police said.

Cpl. Schmid said there were no leads Thursday morning.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact Dover police at 302-736-7130. Callers may remain anonymous. Tips may also be submitted via Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333 or delaware.crimestoppersweb.com; a cash reward is possible for information leading to an arrest.
