BLADES — Approximately two-thirds of the 133 registered voters in town went to the polls Monday, electing two incumbents and one newcomer in a four-person race for three council seats.
Nancy McAdams will be the new face on the governing body, as she received the most votes, 85.
She will join incumbents Donald Trice (77 votes) and Pierre Gaither Sr. (74), who secured the other two positions.
Lee Benningfield, who previously served on council as an appointee, polled 22 votes.
Terms in Blades are two years.
The winners will be sworn in at council’s Monday meeting at the Blades Volunteer Fire Co., starting at 7 p.m.
Ms. McAdams will assume the spot held by Ashley Hudson, who did not seek reelection.
In 2023, the terms of Mayor Robert Atkinson, Vice Mayor Michael Smith and Councilman Russell Joseph will expire.
