RICHMOND, Va. – Two Delaware athletes were named Colonial Athletic Association's softball player and rookie of the week.
Delaware junior first baseman Brooke Glanden (Lake Forest) was named the Colonial Athletic Association Softball Player of the Week while freshman third baseman Lexi Moore (Smyrna) was selected Rookie of the Week on Tuesday.
Glanden led Delaware at the plate during the Blue Hens' series at Hofstra by batting .700 with team-highs of seven hits, two homers and five RBI. She went 2 for 2 with a home run in Saturday's 11-0 win over the Pride, and finished 2 for 4 during the second game of the day. Glanden then went 3 for 4 with a double, homer and four RBI in Sunday's 11-5 victory over Hofstra.
Glanden currently ranks third in the CAA with a .439 batting average and fourth with seven home runs this spring.
Moore, who earned her second Rookie of the Week honor in three weeks, batted .500 with six hits, four runs scored, three RBI and two steals during the Hofstra series. She went 2 for 4 with an RBI in Saturday's victory, before adding a two-run single during the nightcap. Moore then recorded three hits and scored three runs in Sunday's 11-5 victory.
Moore currently leads the Blue Hens with 14 stolen bases this season and is tied for the team lead with nine multi-hit games.
Delaware has now collected eight CAA weekly honors this season, its most since joining the league in 2002.
