Two arrests made in Middletown shooting

MIDDLETOWN - Two Townsend men were arrested Thursday in connection with a Sept. 23 shooting that left two persons injured, authorities said.

Maon Murray, 20, and Ammir Brewster, 19, were charged in the incident in the area of Bunker Hill Road and Choptank Road at approximately 9:15 p.m. Two persons suffered non-life threatening injuries, police said.

An intra-school district football game between Appoquinimink and Middletown high schools was played near the area of the shooting that night.

Police said that Mr. Murray and Mr. Brewster were developed as suspects and search warrants were served on their homes Thursday.

Both men were charged with two counts each of first-degree assault and first-degree reckless endangering, and single counts of second-degree conspiracy, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felon, and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.

Mr. Brewster and Mr. Murray were both arraigned via Justice of the Peace Court 2 and each received $102,000 secured bail. They were both then held at Howard R. Young Correctional Institution after failing to post bail.
