DOVER — Javian Scott, 18, of Dover, was arrested on gun charges during a traffic stop Saturday, authorities said.
According to Dover police spokesman Sgt. Mark Hoffman, Mr. Scott was stopped in the area of Lincoln and Forrest streets for a traffic violation at approximately 10:58 p.m.
During the stop, officers could smell a strong odor of marijuana in the vehicle, police said.
During a search of the car, they located 23 grams of marijuana, a loaded .45-caliber handgun and a loaded revolver in a backpack, police said.
Mr. Scott was charged with possession of a firearm/ammunition by a person prohibited (three counts), carrying a concealed deadly weapon (two counts) and possession of marijuana. He was released after posting a $25,000 secured bond.
