Posted

DOVER — Antholyn Vaquiz, 36, of Dover, was charged with felony DUI following a traffic stop Saturday.

Delaware State Police Senior Cpl. Leonard DeMalto said Vaquiz was driving at a high rate of speed when stopped on North DuPont Highway in the area of Dyke Branch Road at approximately 9:49 p.m. The trooper detected the odor of alcohol on Vaquiz’s breath, and a DUI investigation ensued.

The suspect was taken into custody at the scene without incident. A search led to the discovery of approximately 1.88 grams of marijuana, and a computer check revealed that Vaquiz had four prior convictions for DUI, Cpl. DeMalto said.

He was charged with fifth-offense DUI, possession of marijuana and traffic offenses. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7 and released after posting $10,654 secured bond.
