MILLSBORO - Delaware State Police on Tuesday arrested a 28-uear-old Dagsboro man after a traffic stop led to the discovery of drugs, including heroin, cocaine and marijuana.
Kevin D. HandyTroopers charged Kevin D. Handy Jr. with: Possession With Intent to Deliver a controlled substance in a Tier 2 quantity; Possession With Intent to Deliver a controlled substance; Possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 2 quantity; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (2 counts); Driving While Suspended; Possession of Marijuana Personal Use and Improper Tail Lights, said state police spokeswoman Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe.
The incident occurred on March 12 at approximately 6:46 p.m., when troopers observed an equipment violation on a tan Mercedes Benz traveling northbound on Long Neck Road.
A traffic stop was initiated, and troopers detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. The driver identified as 28-year-old Kevin D. Handy Jr. was found to have a suspended license. A search led to the discovery of the following:
Handy was taken into custody without incident and taken to Troop 7. Handy was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $51,502 secured bond, Cpl. Jaffe said.
