Traffic stop brings Dover man's arrest

DOVER - Anthony Mosley, 31, of Dover, was arrested on weapon and drug charges following a traffic stop Tuesday, authorities said.

Spokesperson Master Cpl. Ryan Schmid said investigation began at 11:47 p.m., when an officer on patrol observed a car traveling northbound on North DuPont Highway in the area of Rustic Lane with no license plate displayed.

A traffic stop followed and the officer contacted the driver Mr. Mosley, police said. Drugs were seen in plain view in the vehicle, police said, and a search was conducted. Officers located 1.1 grams of cocaine and a black and gray handgun inside of a bookbag, as a result of the search, police said.

Mr. Mosley was taken into custody without incident.

Mr. Mosley was charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and several traffic violation. He was released on an own recognizance bond.
