Tonessa Lynn Barlow, 34

DOVER - Tonessa Lynn Barlow, of Dover, departed this life Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008, in her home. She was 34. She was born July 19, 1974 to Cheryl and the late Roger Barlow Jr. She attended school in the Capitol School District and was a housekeeper at various motels in the Dover area. She loved to read and enjoyed being with her family and friends. She also enjoyed summer barbecues with her family and friends and cooking and eating. She was a happy and fun loving person. She was a very good mother, sister and daughter. She loved listening to music and dancing and looking at the New England Patriots. She was preceded in death by her father. Roger Barlow Jr.; her maternal grandmother. Mary "Midget" Benson; and her great-grandmother, Rachel Ann Wheeler. Rick Tolson, also a very special friend also departed this life on Nov. 9, 2008. She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Cheryl Barlow of Dover, her four children, Latoya and Elijah Barlow, Eugene Riley and Tomeya Bolden; two grandchildren, Syncir Barlow and Saniyah Thomas; her paternal grandmother, Retha Cooper, her maternal grandfather, Lee Green; twelve brothers, Antonio Jackson, Roger and his wife Robin, Rah Rah, Tony, Charles, Micheal, Little Roger, Ronald, Darren, Ronald, Roddick and Raheim all of Dover; eleven sisters, Tonya Barlow of Salisbury, Md., Sonja Barlow of Wilmington, Jamisha Wilson of Dover, Bobbie Jean of Georgia, Kim of North Carolina, Tocoma, Rashanda, Deatrice, Jessica, Nicole and Niece all of Dover; seven aunts, Brenda (Bruce) Turner of Dover, Mary (Arthur) Mills, Lizzie Pearl, Lindor, Shirley Burris, Diane Barlow, Annie Carol Thompson and Barbara Stevens; two uncles, Donnie and Roce Barlow; two godsons, Jaleel Young of Felton and Johnathon Hooks of Dover; three great aunts, Ina Brokenbrough, Catherine Simms and Doris Hooks; a special cousin that was like an aunt, Val Brooks; a special cousin Pat Moore; special friends, Tammy Hooks, Mary Zachery, Tameka Brinkley, Tashema Copes and Toya Parker. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends. Viewing will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Bennie Smith Funeral Home in Dover. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Greater Life Christian Church, 540 Headstart Lane in Dover, where friends may view two hours prior. Burial will be in Whatcoat Church Cemetery.
