SALISBURY, Md. — TidalHealth Peninsula Regional recently honored certified nursing assistant Jeni Lopez with the Sunshine Award for Outstanding CNAs, PCAs and PCTs.

Ms. Lopez works on patient care unit 5 East at the Salisbury hospital. She was honored after a patient’s family member took the time to write a nomination for an act of kindness:

“Jeni was the CNA/Tech for my wife over several days. She was outstanding, compassionate and you can tell she’s invested and enjoys what she does. About 75% of my wife’s hair was extremely knotted. Jeni was not happy about that, so she spent over an hour combing out the knots. She saved my wife’s dignity, eliminating the need to have her hair cut off. I am grateful for Jeni and the service and time she spent caring for my wife.”

Ms. Lopez was honored in ceremonies before her coworkers and presented with fresh flowers, a pin and a certificate recognizing her exceptional care.
