DOVER — Three men were arrested and two persons of interest are sought after an alleged assault and robbery Sunday, Dover police spokesman Sgt. Mark Hoffman said.

Police said a 37-year-old man had his keys and wallet stolen, while being assaulted in a vacant parking lot at Loockerman and Queen streets at approximately 2:41 a.m. He was transported to Bayhealth Hospital, Kent Campus for injuries to his face and arms.

After a review of video in the area and a search by patrol officers, Dover residents Stanley Stanford, 54, and Dareaus Anderson, 32, were arrested, along with Felton resident Robert Davis, 61. Two persons of interest were not located, police said.

The three men were charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree conspiracy and third-degree assault. Mr. Anderson was also wanted on a warrant, Sgt. Hoffman said.

Mr. Stanford and Mr. Anderson were each committed to Sussex Correctional Institution, Georgetown, on a $900 secured bond, while Mr. Davis was held there on a $450 secured bond.

The investigation is ongoing, and police asked anyone with information to call 736-7130. Callers may remain anonymous. Tips may also be submitted through Delaware Crime Stoppers at (800) TIP-3333 or here. A cash reward is possible for information leading to an arrest.
