BRIDGEVILLE — Three arrests on numerous felony gun and narcotics charges were made Thursday following a monthslong drug-dealing investigation, Delaware State Police said.
Senior Cpl. Leonard DeMalto said troopers executed a search warrant at a residence in the 10000 block of Rifle Range Road in Bridgeville. When the officers entered the home, they saw Christopher Viruet, 28, of Bridgeville, running from a bedroom. He was taken into custody without further incident in a second bedroom.
Troopers also arrested Patricia Griffis, 41, of Bridgeville, and Jesus Torres, 32, of Dover, inside the house without incident.
A search located approximately 4.1 grams of suspected heroin, 57.11 grams of crack cocaine and 10.41 grams of cocaine, as well as a loaded Glock handgun that had been altered to fire on fully automatic and had been reported as stolen in September 2021 by the Federalsburg (Maryland) Police Department.
Ammunition and over $2,700 in suspected drug-dealing proceeds were also found.
The residence was occupied by two boys, ages 10 and 13, who were turned over to a relative.
Mr. Viruet was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a Tier 3 quantity, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a Tier 2 quantity, possession of ammunition by a person prohibited, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a destructive weapon, receiving a stolen firearm, second-degree conspiracy and endangering the welfare of a child. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution, Georgetown, on $177,000 cash bond.
Ms. Griffis was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a Tier 3 quantity, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a drug property, second-degree conspiracy and endangering the welfare of a child. She was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $49,500 cash bond.
Mr. Torres was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a Tier 3 quantity, possession of a controlled substance (two counts), possession of drug paraphernalia, second-degree conspiracy and endangering the welfare of a child (two counts). He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $43,500 cash bond.
