Thomas Richard Teed, 69
Thomas Richard Teed of Harrington died Sunday, March 11, 2007, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 69.
Mr. Teed was born in Greensboro, Md., son of the late Kenneth Thomas and Pearl Teed.
He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era. During his stint in the Army, he was stationed in Korea and Germany.
Mr. Teed retired from Playtex after more then 30 years as a general mechanic and welder. After retiring, he worked for Collins Mechanical for a short while.
When he was not working, he enjoyed snowmobiling, four wheeling, gardening, and woodworking. He also loved to hunt, fish and above all, travel.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather who lived life to the fullest, always had a smile, and always loved to joke and laugh. He will be sorely missed by his close family and friends.
Mr. Teed was a lifetime member of Harrington Moose 534 and obtained the Fellowship Degree. He was also a member of American Legion post CKRT 7 and a lifetime member of the Mid Del State Archery Association.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, his loving wife, Ella Elizabeth Teed; and a sister, Arlene Teed.
He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Ginny and Donald Jenkins of Harrington, Beth Cordova and her companion, Gene Anthony of Harrington; brothers, George Teed of New Castle, Wayne Teed of Felton; sisters, Louise Downs of Goldsboro, Md., Marlyn Buckingham of Waxsaw, N.C., Lois Poore of Harrington, Margaret Bernholtz of Arart, Va., Mary Jane Zeitler of Harrington, Betty Blair of Felton, Norma Lee Edwards of Harrington, Rose Marie Vestal of Rainelle of W.Va.; grandchildren, Randy Lyons, US Navy and wife Lisa stationed in Kings Bay, Ga., Tommy Lyons of Harrington, Christina Cordova, U.S. Army stationed in Korea, and Rachelle Cordova of Harrington; and great-grandchildren Tyler A. Lyons, Dixie C. Lyons and Vera R. Cordova.
Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday with the Moose ritual at 7:30 in Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 S. DuPont Highway, Harrington.
