SEAFORD - Thomas J. Booth, died Sept. 19, 2012 in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford. Thomas was born August 16, 1919 in Snow Hill, Md. to the late Harry Ullman and Margaret Williams Booth. In the 1950's and 1960's he worked at Nanticoke Dry Cleaners in Seaford, and then he became an meat inspector for the FDA. Also in the late 1960's he acquired rental properties in Rehoboth Beach which he had until the 1990's. Shortly after his wife passed in 2004, Thomas moved into the Methodist Manor House in Seaford where he enjoyed doing volunteer work. Thomas was proud of being a signer of the proclamation of Delaware Day which is held on Dec 7 of every year since 1933. In earlier years, he enjoyed surf fishing with members of his family. Besides his parents he was proceeded in death by his wife Hazel Zych Booth; two sisters, Helen Wilkins and Myrna B. Workman; six brothers James F, Charles B., Robert S., Richard L, William A., and P. Edward Booth. He is survived by many nieces and nephews; two step-daughters, Patricia Checkwick of Leesburg, Fla. and Janis Townsend of Seaford; and several step-grandchildren. Graveside service will be held on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, at 3 p.m., at St. Johnstown Cemetery in Greenwood. Arrangements by Fleischauer Funeral Home, 16 West Market St., Greenwood.
