Thomas Bruce Kelley

DOVER - MSgt. Retired Thomas Bruce "Tom" Kelley passed away Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014 at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. Thomas was born on Dec. 12, 1932 in Baltimore, Md., son of the late John and Mary Kozar Kelley. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force for 23 years where he worked as a jet engine mechanic and helicopter mechanic. Tom served as a Postal courier before retiring. He also worked for Scott Paper for eight years as a machine mechanic. Tom was a member of Dover Air Force Sgt. Association, DAV, the Radio Control Car Club and a 26 year AA Member. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by two sons Thomas B. Kelley, II "Beau" and Stephen L. Kelley. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Brenda Kelley; daughter, Karen L. Holleger of Felton; stepdaughters, Jeanette Thurtle and her husband, Ian of England and Tina Cahall and her husband, Dan of Dover; a sister, Kitty Letsch and her husband, Richard; eight granddaughters, two great-grandchildren and his faithful dog Max. A memorial service will be held 12 noon Monday, Feb. 10 in the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where a gathering will be one hour earlier. Burial will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Kent County S.P.C.A., 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934.
