Thomas Albert Beck

DOVER - Thomas Albert Beck passed away Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016 at home. Tom was born May 19, 1947 in Crestline, Ohio to the late Harry Beck and DaLee VanZile Beck. Tom is survived by his daughter, Alicia Beck; and son-in-law, David Hamer of Savannah, Ga.; his sister, Alice Helinger; and brother-in-law, Chester Helinger of Crestline, Ohio; as well as numerous friends and family members who love and will miss him. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, retiring after 24 years as MSGT. Tom loved animals and supported the Humane Society. Tom was a Zumba and dance enthusiast. He could frequently be seen riding his bike around Dover and telling corny jokes. He was very active in civic volunteerism. He was active in the Wesley United Methodist Church in Dover volunteering his time in the Clothing Closet and helping prepare Fellowship meals. A memorial service will be held Monday, Nov. 21, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church, 209 S. State Street, Dover. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to First State Animal Center and SPCA, 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, De 19934.
