Thelma N. Schneider

SMYRNA - Thelma N. Schneider passed away on Monday, Nov. 26, 2012 at Kent General Hospital in Dover. Mrs. Schneider was born Feb. 11, 1921, the daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret Cook. She was a talented pianist. Though nearly blind, she was able to develop her talent without any formal training. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Erich Hengst; her second husband, P. Nelson Schneider; two sisters, Edith C. Everett and Helen E. Cook; and two brothers, Franklin T. Cook and Raymond M. Cook. She is survived by six nieces and nephews, Margaret E. Snow, Allen C. Everett, E. Louise Berry, Shirley E. Steele, James LeRoy Everett, and Bettielou C. Wagner; three step-sons, Ronald Schneider, Gerald Schneider, and Thomas Schneider; and numerous step-grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012 at 1 p.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, DE. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Burial will be held at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Smyrna. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Asbury United Methodist Church, PO Box 330, Smyrna, DE 19977. Condolence letters may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com.
