Brock Cornwell, 75 MILFORD - On Nov. 4, 2012, Thannie Genelda (Nell) Brock Cornwell, peacefully joined her Lord, surrounded by family, love, and songs of praise. Nell was born in Tylertown, Miss., reared in Bogalusa, La., and spent much of her adult life in DeRidder, La., joining her family in Milford, Del. for the final 13 years of her life. She was the oldest daughter of the late G.W. Brock and Ollie Holmes Brock. A retired schoolteacher, Nell spent her life in service to God, her loved ones, and her community. She was raised in the United Pentecostal Church, and was known to family and friends as someone who was deeply dedicated to her beliefs and lived a pure life. Along with her husband, Wayne, she served as the director of the Food Bank Ministry for Lighthouse Christian Center in Milford, where she was an active member. "Aunt Nell," as she was known to family and friends alike, had a caring and compassionate heart, and those who knew her will remember how much she loved to give gifts and spoil all of her "nieces and nephews." Nell is survived by her husband of 35 years, Terrell Wayne Cornwell, Sr.; son, Terrell Wayne Cornwell, Jr. and his wife Leika; siblings, Glenda Andrus and her husband Royce Andrus, Terry Brock, Patricia Bryan and her husband Ronald, Faye Corkern and her husband Donald, Sylvia Lee and her husband Charles, Ann Seal and her husband Doug, Betty Smith and her husband Curley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving family. Waiting to welcome her at Heaven's gate were her parents; her great-niece, Hollie Faith Seal; and her grandbaby. Family and friends will be celebrating Nell's life this weekend at Lighthouse Christian Center in Milford, Del. A viewing will be held Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, from 5 to 8 p.m. and the funeral service will be held Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at 10 am. Flowers and memorial contributions may be sent to: Lighthouse Christian Center, 662 Milford-Harrington Highway, Milford, DE 19963. Arrangements by Lofland Funeral Home, Milford DE.
