DELAWARE, Ohio — Harrington, Delaware-based Wiggle It Jiggleit, owned and trained by George Teague Jr. and driven by his son Montrell Teague, is the favorite to win today’s Little Brown Jug at the Delaware, Ohio, Fairgrounds.

The Little Brown Jug, celebrating its 70th anniversary, is the third leg of pacing’s Triple Crown.

To win the coveted Little Brown Jug, Wiggle It Jiggleit has to win two heats to be declared the champion.

There are two divisions this year, with the top four horses in each of the elimination races advancing to the $324,960 second heat.

If an elimination winner scores in the second heat, he will be the Jug winner. Otherwise, the three heat winners will return for a $135,400 race-off.

In the other first division event, the favorite is Dude’s The Man, a top-three finisher in 12 of 13 races this season, who will be driven by Dover Downs’ perennial driving champion, Corey Callahan.

Dude’s The Man has won three times, including the Delvin Miller Adios Stakes in August, and has earnings of $643,504. He finished second to Wiggle It Jiggleit in the Meadowlands Pace.

Wiggle It Jiggleit has been the top ranked horse for most weeks in harness racing’s weekly Hambletonian Society-Breeders Crown Top 10 poll.

The gelding heads a field of 15 horses entered in the event. Wiggle It Jiggleit drew post 5 in the second first-heat elimination and has been installed as the 4-5 favorite.
