LEWES — David Tam, MD, president & CEO, Beebe Healthcare will serve as Chair of the Southern Delaware Heart Walk 2021.

The Heart Walk will be held at the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand on Sunday, Nov. 21 (depending on statewide COVID-19 regulations) and will support the American Heart Association.

The Southern Delaware Heart Walk is an opportunity for participants to walk in honor of those who suffer from heart disease and to raise funds for the advancement of research initiatives and community education programs.

The Heart Walk encourages Americans to make healthy choices including proper nutrition and adding physical activities, such as walking, to their daily routine.

Dr. Tam arrived from California in March 2020, earlier than originally planned, to be sure he was on the frontlines to lead Beebe Healthcare during the COVID-19 pandemic. He is a distinguished and accomplished health care executive and is a retired officer in the United States Navy.

The 2021 Southern Delaware Heart Walk will feature health screenings, CPR demonstrations, activities for children, sponsor tents, giveaways, healthy fruit and snacks, and entertainment.
