DOVER — Suspects are being sought in two residential burglaries and a church break-in occurring on three straight days this week, police said Thursday.

The first incident came Tuesday night when a vacant home was entered through a rear window screen that had been cut between 6 p.m. and 9:20 p.m., Dover Police said. Cash was stolen from a bedroom before a suspect or suspects fled, according to authorities.

The owner returned home to the 100 block of Upland Avenue and discovered the crime, police said.

On Wednesday a 78-year-old woman found a suspect when entering her home in the 1500 block of North Little Creek Road at 3:20 p.m. The suspect, described as an unknown black man, took the woman’s purse off her shoulder and knocked her to the ground.

The woman did not require treatment for minor injuries, police said.

The Wesley Chapel at 3 N. Bradford Street was burglarized at approximately 1:21 a.m. Thursday, police said. A 23-year-old woman was in the basement when an unknown suspect entered by removing a piece of plywood covering a window to the room, police said.

The woman called police after fleeing from the room and into a nearby hallway, authorities said.

A suspect took a laptop computer, police said.
