Suspect sought in Dover bank robbery

Posted

DOVER — A suspect was sought after a robbery at Shore United Bank on Wednesday, Dover police spokesman Master Cpl. Ryan Schmid said.

The incident, at 800 S. Governors Ave., occurred at 1:54 p.m. Officers responded and contacted a customer, then determined that a male had entered the business and demanded money, Cpl. Schmid said.

The suspect was in possession of a weapon, so the individual complied and turned over an undisclosed amount of money, police said. The suspect then fled the bank on foot prior to officers’ arrival.

The suspect was described as a White male, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing dark clothing.

Police asked anyone with information to call 302-736-7130. Callers may remain anonymous. Tips may also be submitted via Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333 or here; a cash reward is possible for information leading to an arrest.
