GEORGETOWN - A 40-year-old Georgetown man was arrested following a residential burglary in the 24000 block of Lewes-Georgetown Highway on March 13, authorities said.

Dwayne Sudduth

Delaware State Police were initially dispatched to a residence for a burglary report, spokeswoman Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe said. It was discovered that a suspect had forced entry into the rear of the residence, police said. Once inside, police said, the suspect removed several items and fled the scene.

Police said Dwayne Sudduth was taken into custody Monday at a residence in the 25000 block of Silver Oak Drive. He initially tried to flee on foot, authorities said, and provided a false name. He was subsequently taken into custody and transported to Troop 4. Charges included second-degree burglary, theft under $1,500 criminal impersonation, resisting arrest and criminal mischief.

Mr. Sudduth was arraigned before Justice of the Peace Court and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in Georgetown due to being a fugitive from another state.
