LINCOLN — Supply and demand have necessitated a third Stockley Materials location in Sussex County — this one in Lincoln, not far from the Kent County line.
The site opened recently at the corner of U.S. 113 and Johnson Road, directly across the highway from Fitzgerald Salvage & Recycling, a few miles south of Milford.
It joins Georgetown and Lewes locations for the supplier, which, for more than 15 years, has been offering mulch, decorative stones, sand, soil, compost, pavers and retaining walls, as well as irrigation and lighting solutions for customers’ outdoor living spaces.
Stockley Materials is part of the Joseph Family of Companies.
The northern expansion, said the group’s president Ken Adams, is designed to meet growing demand.
“If you look around Milford, right around Route 1 and east of Del. 1, they are building quite a few homes. So there is demand,” said Mr. Adams. “What we have already found is a lot of our customers out of the Georgetown area are from Milford. They are contractors and landscapers that do a lot of work in the Milford area. So for them, it’s going to be a plus.”
Stockley Materials also provides roll-off containers and offers yard-debris disposal and recycling services.
Business hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
Initially, the Lincoln location is supplying mulch, topsoil and stone. Soon, it will expand into a full product line and services, mirroring its other locations.
“It’s just a matter of getting set up,” said Mr. Adams, who anticipates that the Lincoln location should probably be “up to full song” early this month. “We wanted to get open. Of course, we didn’t want to miss the season. We’re adding bins and material every day.”
The Lincoln Stockley Materials will be staffed by four employees.
The supply company offers this pledge for its Lincoln site: “We look forward to providing Milford and the surrounding areas with everything you need to create an outdoor living space that will make your neighbors jealous!”
Additionally, the Joseph Family of Companies includes Mr. Mulch, a long-standing business in the Seaford area.
