To clarify the original post, note that Travis Jack Stevens is not endorsed by the Working Families Party. He said he plans to run for the office, but has not yet filed.
On Wednesday, June 24, I proudly announced my candidacy for the U.S. Senate, fully aligned with the Working Families Party’s vision of a vibrant, multiracial, working-class movement that prioritizes people over profits and envisions a nation where everyone can thrive. This campaign embodies bold, principled leadership: an end to endless wars, the dismantling of corporate money’s grip on our democracy through the repeal of Citizens United, the abolition of super political action committees and a steadfast commitment to the WFP’s core mission of economic justice, equality and freedom for all working people.
For too long, Washington has served the powerful at the expense of the many. Our foreign policy has led us into costly, unending conflicts that drain resources from our communities, cost American lives and threaten global stability — while enriching defense contractors. I say: No more wars. We must prioritize diplomacy, de-escalation and investing in our people at home. Resources wasted abroad should be redirected to rebuild our infrastructure, strengthen our schools, expand healthcare and create good-paying jobs in clean energy and manufacturing. Peace is a sign of strength; it is the foundation of a prosperous, secure nation that uplifts working families.
At home, democracy itself is under siege by big money. The Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision unleashed a flood of corporate and billionaire cash, giving rise to super PACs that allow limitless, often dark, funding to drown out the voices of ordinary Americans — workers, families and communities — who cannot compete with “dark money” billionaires. Ending Citizens United and super PACs is critical to restoring “one person, one vote.” We need real campaign finance reform: strict limits, full transparency and a system where elected officials serve their constituents, not wealthy donors. Only then can we truly address the core issues — raising the minimum wage, implementing universal paid leave, “Medicare for all,” affordable housing, debt-free education and a tax system that ensures that the ultrawealthy pay their fair share.
This campaign stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the Working Families Party’s mission: building a political home for the multiracial working class, fighting against the politicians and insiders who rig the economy and securing tangible victories for everyday people. We reject bigotry, bailouts for the wealthy and business as usual. Instead, we fight for safe communities, clean water and air, well-funded public schools, strong unions that lift wages and policies that fulfill America’s promise of freedom and equality for all.
I am running not for personal ambition or elite interests but to be a powerful voice for working families everywhere. Whether you’re a teacher burdened by student debt, a union worker fighting for fair contracts, a parent worried about healthcare costs or a young person dreaming of a future free from climate catastrophe and endless war — this campaign belongs to you. Join me in this historical fight. Together, with the Working Families Party and movements across the country, we can transform politics from a game of the few into a movement for the many. No more wars. No more corporate domination. Let’s build a government that truly works for working people — starting now. It’s time to forge the future we all deserve. Let’s get to work.
Please join me. Together, we will overcome.
