Steven Spicer, 62

GEORGETOWN - Steven Spicer, died Thursday, October 29, 2009, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. He was 62. Steven was born in Milford, the son of the late George L. and Rachel Ann (Hitchens) Spicer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp, serving during 1965 to 1969. He was a radio sales account executive for Benchmark Corporation for 10 years, retiring in 2003. He was a member of the Transformation Station in Georgetown, a life-member of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Life member of the Georgetown-Ellendale VFW 2931, and a member of the Disabled Veterans. He also enjoyed traveling, fishing, all outdoor water sports, and gardening. He is survived by his son, Zackery B. Spicer and his girlfriend, Nikki Toohey of Georgetown; cousins, Jean Birch and Cindy Taggart, both of Ohio; his cat, Stormy; and his dog, Hurricane. Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, where friends may call Monday after 12 noon. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Georgetown.
