FELTON - Stephen M. Loomis died September 7, 2012, at Bay Health Medical Center in Dover. Born in Alexandria, Va. he was the son of William H. and Viola Mae Loomis of Dover, Del. Stephen moved to the Dover area with his parents in 1971 and had later worked as a machine operator with CT Films. He later worked for US Plastic Lumber Co. and had also worked part-time as a Driver for Chambers Bus Service until disability caused his retirement in 2002. He had been a member of Holy Cross Church in Dover and served as a Coach with the Pop Warner Football League for several years. He enjoyed sports and was a big fan of the Kansas City Chiefs Football Team. He enjoyed Fishing and Cooking , but most of all, the time spent with his family. He was a dedicated son, husband and father and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. Stephen was predeceased by his brother, Thomas W. Loomis in 2000. Besides his parents he is survived by his wife of 23 years, Marlene Thompson Loomis of Felton; his devoted son, Tyler M. Loomis of Felton; his loving sister, Donna DiMaria and her spouse Peter of Dover; along with three nieces; and his faithful Beagle, "Dexter". Relatives and friends may call Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso 1175 S. State St. Dover, DE. Services and Burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery will be private.
