Stephen Bridges Dellinger

Dellinger, 66 HARRINGTON - Stephen Bridges Dellinger, 66, of Harrington, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at UPENN Hospice at Rittenhouse, Philadelphia, Pa. Stephen was born in Milford, son of the late William and Virginia Dellinger, Sr. He was a graduate of the Fishburn Military Academy in Waynesboro, Va. and attended Elon Christian College in North Carolina before leaving to voluntarily enlist in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War attaining the rank of Staff Sgt. After leaving the service, he began his career as a police officer with the Harrington Police Department, then worked 28 years at the Dupont Seaford Plant and ended his career working with Probation and Parole for the State of Delaware. He was a member of the Endeavor Lodge #17 AF & AM in Milton and a member of the American Legion. He and his friends were co-founders of the First State Commodore Club. He enjoyed photography, fishing and computers. Most importantly, Stephen was a loving and devoted Husband, Father and Pop-Pop. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William P. Dellinger, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Nancy Kruppa Dellinger; two sons, Brian S. Dellinger and his wife Eva, of Vermont and Eric L. Dellinger of Bear; one brother, Michael Dellinger and his wife Diane, of Dover; one sister, Sally Keller and her husband Ronnie, of Florida; and four grandchildren, Gannon, Acadia, Cecily and Hudson. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, July 2, 2015 at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford where friends may call from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Burial with military honors will be in Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Bay Road, Frederica. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to UPENN Hospice at Rittenhouse, 1800 Lombard Street, Philadelphia, PA 19146.
