State Police investigating homicide in Clayton

CLAYTON — Delaware State Police are conducting a homicide investigation that occurred Friday at a residence in Clayton.

The victim, a 65-year-old male resident of the 200 block of South Rodney Street, was found on the ground floor of the residence on Friday by a family member. The victim suffered trauma to the upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

The victim was taken to the Division of Forensic Science for an autopsy to determine cause and manner of death. The State Police Homicide Unit assumed this investigation at the request of Clayton Police Department.

The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
