Stanley Jackson Killman, 86

STANLEY, N.C. - Stanley Jackson Killman, 86, died Friday Aug. 3, 2007 at Presbyterian Hospital. He was born in Crisfield, Md., son of the late Samuel Henry Killman, Sr. and Roseanna Margaretta DeHaven Killman.

He was a retired bus driver with the Charlotte Mecklenburg school systems, a member of Faith Covenant Church of God and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Helms Killman; his children, Donna Sizemore and her husband, the Rev. Alfred Sizemore of Scaly Mountain, N.C., Eva Cooper of Charlotte, Barry Killman and wife, Betty of Charlotte, Tommy Killman of Charlotte; Ruth"s children, Nancy Parker of Pageland SC, Linda Cox and husband, Wilbur of Vale N.C., Jane Crump and husband, Eddie of Charlotte, Doug Crump and wife, Elaine of Monore, Eddie Crump and wife, Vickie of York, SC.; 24 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren and o ne great-great grandchildren; sister, Mabel Campbell and husband, Jim of Burnsville, N.C.; and brother, Leroy Killman and wife, Donna of Columbia, S.C.

He was preceded in death by his son, Stanley Jackson Killman, Jr.; Ruth"s son, Harry W. Love; three sisters, Elsie Killman, Mary Rich and Ruth Killman; and two brothers, Samuel Henry Killman, Jr. and Drummond Killman.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Killman was held Aug. 6, at the Revival Tabernacle in Stanley, N.C. The Revs. Robert Gittens, Wade Foster, Al Sizemore and Reverend Ron Lackey officiated. Memorials may be made to Faith Covenant Church of God, 1148 N. Sharon Amity Road, Charlotte, North Carolina 28211.
