Speak Up: Bill allows permanent curbside alcohol sales

The state House of Representatives’ Administration Committee met virtually to discuss House Bill 289, a measure that would permanently allow liquor stores, farm wineries, breweries, microbreweries, craft distilleries and wine auctions to provide curbside service to deliver alcoholic beverages to customers.

Editor’s note: The legislation was passed by the House and Senate and has been sent to Gov. Carney.

Seaford fire policeman welcomed home

With a huge escort, 83-year-old Ken Tull was brought from a rehabilitation center in Dover to his home in Seaford more than 11 weeks after the Seaford Volunteer Fire Department fire police captain was struck by a vehicle and seriously injured while directing traffic at a scene Oct. 30, 2021.

DIAA still setting up transgender committee

The addition of transgender student-athletes into the sports world has brought a debate with it. The Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association has guidelines on the subject but no set rules. The organization is establishing a committee to deal with the issues posed by transgender athletes but is still accepting applications for the group.

  • Men shouldn’t be allowed to play girl sports. It’s absurd! They have an unfair advantage in every physical sport they play. This shouldn’t even be a debate. This country has gone crazy!
