Sipple: Alcohol should be demonized just as cannabis is

The headline reads, “Millsboro takes initial step to ban marijuana operations” (Sept. 7).

The hypocrisy in this statement amazes me. Daily, there are numerous lives affected by the most common drug in the world, alcohol. How many have lost their lives to drunk drivers? How many have been killed by drunks in domestic quarrels? Families ruined? Yet, there is nothing being done to stop liquor stores opening on just about every block. While I’m not encouraging more people to turn to smoking pot, I am saying that you need to start giving alcohol the same demonization as you do marijuana. But I will say, alcohol is worse.
