DOVER — A 19-year-old Dover man was arrested Thursday on gun offenses following investigation into a shooting incident at a large party June 27, Delaware State Police said.

Authorities said that at approximately 6:35 p.m., troopers responded to a shooting at a large party at the soccer field located at the 200 block of Lewis Drive. Troopers located a 30-year-old woman with a gunshot wound and discovered two vehicles had been struck by gunfire, police said.

Investigating detectives identified Demetrice Hill as one of the suspects involved in the shooting, police said.

Detectives contacted Mr. Hill at his residence Thursday and executed a search warrant, police said. He was then taken into custody.

Mr. Hill was charged with possession of a firearm by a person under 21 (two counts) and carrying a concealed firearm. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $45,000 cash bond.
