BRIDGEVILLE - An 18-year-old male was seriously injured when shot multiple times by an unknown suspect Monday, Delaware State Police spokesperson Senior Cpl. Leonard DeMalto said.
Police said troopers responded to the 21000 block of Mill Park Drive regarding a shooting at approximately 1:47 p.m. Upon their arrival, they learned that a man had been shot.
Cpl. DeMalto said the man was transported by an acquaintance to an area hospital before the arrival of police or medical personnel. He is being treated for his injuries at this time, police said.
There were no other reported injuries and police said the motive behind the shooting remains unclear.
