Shirley Dayton Gray

SEAFORD, Del. - Shirley Dayton Gray died Thursday, March 29, 2018 at the Methodist Manor House in Seaford. Shirley was born on July 1, 1936 to Russell and Evelyn Willey Dayton in Vienna, Md.
Shirley graduated from Vienna High School and received her Associate degree from Delaware Technical Community College. She had worked over the years for Western Publishing in Cambridge, the former Gray's Market in Maryland and at the Stockley Center in Georgetown, Del.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Kaye Alexander (Pete); a step-son, Kent Gray; her brother, James Dayton (Becky); four grandchildren, Britton Robbins, Aron, Emily and Claire Alexander; and two great-grandchildren, Attics and Aster Alexander.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Gray; a son, Rusty Robbins; and a grandson, Jason Alexander.
A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at St. Matthews By-the-Sea United Methodist Church in Fenwick Island.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Matthews By-the-Sea United Methodist Church, 1000 Coastal Hwy., Fenwick Island, DE 19944.
