Shirlee Harvey Collins

PRESTON - Shirlee Harvey Collins, 77, of Preston, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, at The Memorial Hospital in Easton. Born March 27, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Benjamin Harvey and Mary Elizabeth Phillips Harvey. Shirlee retired from Shore Health after 40 years of service but worked as a nurse for over 50 years. She was involved in the Boy Scout Troop 461 in Preston for over 45 years and served as a committee member. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hurlock. She is survived by three children, Dawn P. Donohue and her husband, Michael of Glen Arm, Md., James Colbourn "J.C." Collins, Jr. of Hurlock, and Victor Grant Collins and his wife, Angela of Preston; two grandchildren, James Colbourn "Cole" Collins, III and Tanner Drew Collins; great-granddaughter, Ava Jean Collins; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, James "Jim" Colbourn Collins, Sr. in 1996; grandson, Tyler Collins; brother, Charles "Bud" Harvey; two sisters, Elaine Bryan and Elisabeth "Lib" Parker. A funeral service was 11 a.m., Saturday, at First Baptist Church in Hurlock, where friends called one hour prior to the service. Pastor Tim Merki officiated. Interment was private in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery Eastern Shore. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Shirlee, to Boy Scout Troop 461, P.O.
