Selena Marie Dixon Ross, 58

DOVER - Selena Marie Dixon Ross of Dover departed this life on Tuesday, July 17, 2007, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover after a long illness. She was 58.

Mrs. Ross was born on Nov. 27, 1948, in Harrington, daughter of Alice Dixon and the late Tommy Dixon Jr.

She received her education at the William Henry High School.

For many years, she was employed as a private nurse"s assistant. Through this ministry, she touched the lives of her patients with her nurturing spirit, gentle touch and engaging smile.

Mrs. Ross received Christ in her life at an early age. Under the leadership of Bishop Winfield Washington, she was a faithful member of the Mount Moriah Church of the Living God. Later in life, she became a member at the Milford Revival Center receiving spiritual guidance from Pastors Isaac and Laverne Ross. He commitment to Christ remained steadfast and she was know to fervently praise God throughout her long illness, even once or twice catching the bus to church.

She leaves to mourn her faithful and loving husband of 15 years, Charles Ross; two daughters, Lonyae Loper (Victor) of Felton; and Tritina Faulkner (Gary) of Forestville, Md.; five sisters, Karen Jenkins (Richard) of Dover, Loretta Benson of Harrington, Terri White (James) Harrington, Debra Dixon, Frederica, Surita Briggs (Johnny) of Felton; two brothers, Eugene Dixon, Anchorage, Alaska and Tommy Dixon of Harrington; two aunts, Alene Folston of Portsmouth, Va. and Catherine Jordan of Harrington; an uncle, Johnny Jordan of Philadelphia; three grandchildren, Rashine Steward of Forestville, Md.; Pvt. Justin Banks of Vicenza, Italy and Cheri Dixon of Nashville, Tenn.; a great-grandchild, Mylani Steward of Forestville; close personal friends, Francis Daniels, Edith Harris and Alice Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Calvary Baptist Church, Del. 8, Dover, where friends may call two hours earlier.

Burial will be in the Williamsville Cemetery, Houston.
