This winter and spring, the Youth Education Committee of the Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice delivered Zoom modules to volunteer student participants from Sussex Technical High School, Sussex Academy and Cape Henlopen High School.
The modules addressed the topics of cultural competence, anti-racism and the history of slavery in Delaware. Module coordinators from SDARJ virtually provided short lectures, discussions and breakout groups, and helped coordinate student development of shared resources.
A ceremony recognizing the work of these students was held Wednesday at The Circle in Georgetown. Several students and their parents attended the event, during which students were recognized for their accomplishments.
