Sarah Bell 'Betty' Beasley Wright, 65

CAMBRIDGE - Sarah Bell "Beasley" Beasley Wright, of Cambridge, peacefully died March 14, 2009, in her home. She was 65. Betty was born Oct. 14, 1943, in Darian, Ga., to the late Cicero and Julia Avery Beasley. After moving to Maryland, she attended school in Dorchester County. After being together for 27 years, Betty married Henry Lee Wright on Oct. 14, 2001. During this time they raised their niece, Sheree Elliott Jones. Betty worked for J.M. Clayton for many years. In 2000, Betty and Henry started to seriously study the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses. Betty enjoyed attending meetings along with her husband until her health no longer allowed her to do so. She is survived by her loving husband, Henry; mother-in-law, Mary McCray; four sisters, Sally, Dorothy Keene (William), Elizabeth, Martha (Purnell) of Cambridge; two brothers, Cicero (Irene) of Easton, and Alvin (Jean) of Baltimore; along with many nieces and nephews. Betty had one son who preceded her in death, Roy Beasley. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Coastal Hospice & Palliative Care in Salisbury. Funeral Arrangements for Sarah Wright are being held on Saturday, March 21, 2009, at 1 p.m. There will be a public viewing 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Bennie Smith Funeral Home, 524 Race St., Cambridge, MD 21613.
