CLAYTON - Sandra L. Poore passed away at home with her family by her side on Monday Jan. 5, 2015. She was born in Dover, the daughter of the late William J. Sr. and Frances Poore. Sandy graduated from Smyrna High School in 1979, and then worked for her family's business (Poore's Furniture) in Smyrna for many years. She later owned and operated Victory Lane NASCAR Racing Collectibles in Smyrna. Most recently, she had been employed by American Merix in Delaware City. Her favorite NASCAR drivers were Davey Allison and Dale Earnhardt Jr. and she was also an avid Phillies and Eagles fan. In addition, she enjoyed photography and going to the beach. She was a member of the American Legion Post 14 Auxiliary. The most important thing in Sandy's life was her family, and she will be remembered as someone who was kind-hearted, generous, and helpful. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia A. Steele. She is survived by a brother, William J. (Ginny) Poore Jr., of Smyrna; a sister, Terri (Kevin) Budd, of Clayton; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and her two special aunts. To raise awareness about pancreatic cancer and to remember Sandy, please consider wearing purple in her memory. Services will be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday Jan. 10 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, where friends may call at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna.
