Ruth T. Kohl

DOVER - Ruth T. Kohl, of Dover, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, at Kent General Hospital. She was 82. Mrs. Kohl was born June 11, 1929, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., to the late Edward G. Pissott and Irene Callahan Pissott. She worked as a secretary for the Food and Drug Administration as a civil service employee for 15 years retiring in1990. Mrs. Kohl was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Dover. She enjoyed ballroom dancing and belonged to several dance clubs her favorite being Shawnee Dance Club in Viola. Mrs. Kohl is survived by her husband of 61 years, John R. Kohl of Dover; daughters, Renee Kohl of Dover, Kathryn Ruhlin and her husband Thomas of Reston, Va.; sister, Mary Jane Boyle and her husband Patrick of Wilkes- Barre, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State Street, Dover. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m., at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover. Interment will be at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19901. Letters of condolence may be sent, and the guest book signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
