GEORGETOWN - Ruth Short Simpson, 86, of Georgetown, died Thursday, July 14, 2011, at DE Hospice Center, Milford. She is the daughter of the late George F. Evans and Anna Thomas Evans. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Norman L. Shor (1974) and 2nd husband Wilbur S. Simpson (1989). Also, a brother, George Evans. Mrs. Simpson worked in the Catalog Department for Montgomery Wards prior to retiring. She is survived by two daughters, Joyce E. Green and her husband John R., and Lisa L. Nobles and her significant other Harley E. White; four grandchildren, Jessica Maloney, Danielle Thornton, Lance N. Green and Heather D. Baker, also three great-grandchildren, Simon Paul and Samuel Baker and Chloe Daisey Maloney. Funeral services will be Monday, July 18, 2011, at noon in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 East Market Street, Georgetown, where friends may call for 11 a.m. to noon for visitation. Interment will be Milford Community Cemetery, Milford.
