
MIDDLETOWN - Ruth Pyle Beck passed away at the Heartland Hospice House after a long battle with congestive heart failure on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013. Ruth worked at the cannery in Odessa in the 60's and at Leed's in Smyrna in the 80's. She and her husband did volunteer work for many years at Peach Circle at the old senior center in Kenton. She had so many special friends, who she loved to go out to lunch with, Bessie Justice, Nancy Butler, Dottie Straughn and Carolyn Davis. Her favorite foods were crab cakes and coconut cake. Ruth was predeceased by her first husband, Robert Pyle of Odessa in 1966; her second husband, George Beck of Townsend in 2000; and a son, Richard Pyle of Florida. She is survived by her daughter, Roberta Carey and her husband, Robert, of Middletown; her son, Kennard Pyle and his wife, Joyce, of Odessa; two sisters, Edith Fedorowicz and Dorothy Stachow; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. A special thanks to Dr. David Ramos, Pastor Bob Harting, the nurses at Heartland Hospice House and everyone in the physical therapy wing at Broadmeadow Healthcare/Cadia. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013 at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, 212 N. Broad Street in Middletown, where friends may visit with Mrs. Beck's family from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Townsend Cemetery.
