SALISBURY - Ruth E. Hammond died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016. Born in Massapequa, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late John and Esther Bodley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jane Dayton; and brother-in-law, Richard Dayton. Upon relocating to Salisbury, she married her husband of 65 years, Howard C. Hammond, who survives her. She is also survived by her sons, Steven H. Hammond of Salisbury and Mark T. Hammond of Berlin. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, at 1 p.m. at the Powellville Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
