Ruby Neal Spielman

FELTON - Ruby Neal Spielman, daughter of the late Roy Ferrell and Mary Grant, was born on June 20, 1935 in Greensboro, North Carolina. She departed this life on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the Pinnacle Nursing Home in Smyrna. She graduated from Dudley High School in Greensboro, North Carolina. She was a former employee of Benton & Bowles of New York City, Kent General Hospital as a switch board operator, Dover Litho, MBNA Bank as a marketing system INT. and Verizon Wireless all in Dover, Delaware. Preceding her departure, she was a devoted homemaker. Ruby was a member of Holy Cross Church in Dover, DE. She truly loved the Lord and she was a devoted mother, a loving grandmother and a kind-hearted friend. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Spielman. She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Celinda (Donald) Jones of Dover; two sons, Claude (Charlene) Neal of Bronx, New York and Gregory (Rose) Spielman of Magnolia; one sister, Margie Carter of Greensboro, NC; eight grandchildren: Andre Huggins of Dover, Sharelle (Kevin) Ingram of Baltimore, MD, Katrina Jones of Dover, Lakeyra (Andrew) Thomas of Valdosta, GA, LaKendra Spielman, Kyler Spielman, Nehemiah Spielman, Malachi Allman all of Magnolia; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Public viewing will be Thursday, February 5, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. with funeral services following on Friday, February 6 at 11 a.m., both at Bennie Smith Funeral Home, 717 Division St., Dover. Interment will be on Monday, February 9 at the Veteran's Cemetary in Bear.
