Rasheed Woods scored a pair of touchdowns as Cape Henlopen High defeated Caesar Rodney High 21-6 in a Henlopen Conference Northern Division football matchup on Friday night.

Woods ran for a 4-yard score in the second quarter and caught a 15-yard pass from quarterback Dillon Adams in the fourth. The Vikings also scored on a safety and a 5-yard rush by Mike Williams.

Caesar Rodney’s lone touchdown came in the fourth quarter on a 5-yard rush by Najee Whitted.

Salesianum 21, Dover 7: The Senators led 7-0 at halftime but three unanswered touchdowns by Sallies in the second half were the difference.

Breon Dennis caught Dover’s touchdown to end the second quarter off a pass by Triston Harris. Colby Reeder then tied the game for the Sals in the third before scoring a touchdown on the next drive for a 14-7 advantage.

Dover drove the length of the field on the next drive but Sallies’ Michael Drake picked off a Dover pass in the end zone. Jeremy Ryan added a punt return touchdown for the Sals in the fourth quarter.

Field hockey

Milford 4, Appoquinimink 0: Host Milford (7-4-1) had two goals from Megan Fry and one each by Rajene Bowe and Courtney Lingo. Bowe added a pair of assists.

Bucs goalie Leah Barnett recorded seven saves. Milford had a 23-7 shots advantage and led 17-4 in penalty corners.

Sussex Tech 2, Conrad School 1: Annie Perdue scored on an assist by Jazmyne Marino at 14:38 of the second half as the host Ravens defeated Conrad.

Dara Spavlik scored at 24:31 of the first half to give Conrad (8-4-1) a 1-0 lead. Tech’s Hannah Venables tied the game at 16:53 on an assist by Brienna Kollock.

Sussex Tech (7-4-2) had a 21-1 shots advantage and led in penalty corners 22-2.

Boys’ soccer

Milford 4, Laurel 1: Darkenson Berrette scored twice and Davidson Marcellus and Eshnightder Estime added goals as the host Bucs defeated Laurel.

Marcellus gave Milford (6-7 overall) the lead at the 15-minute mark and Berrette scored his first goal at 21 minutes as the Bucs took a 2-0 advantage at halftime.

Craig Rice tallied Laurel’s goal at the 49-minute mark.

Milford led in shots 13-2 and corner kicks 8-3.

Delmar 2, Woodbridge 1: Andrew Blewitt scored the game-winner at 81:26 in overtime to lift Delmar past Woodbridge.

Jamel Allen scored at 28:30 of the first half for Delmar, and Wilian Santizo tallied for Woodbridge at 73:18 of the second half.

Delmar (3-8-2) held an 18-10 shots advantage.

Lake Forest 1, Seaford 0: The host Spartans scored the game’s only goal in the first half to defeat Seaford.

Volleyball

St. Thomas More 3, Sussex Tech 1: Sarah Pool had 14 kills and Jessica Crawford added 12 kills as St. Thomas More defeated Sussex Tech 20-25, 25-13, 25-12, 25-17. Kourtnie Orth led the Ravens (10-4) with 6 aces.

Delmar 3, Red Lion 2: The host Wildcats rallied to win by scores of 21-25, 21-25, 25-23, 25-18, 15-10.

Leading Delmar (9-4) were Samantha Lehman (5 digs, 44 assists), Carly Covington (22 kills, 14 aces, 12, digs) and Avery Wheatley (25 kills, 12 digs).

Indian River 3, Worcester Prep (Md.) 1: The Indians won by scores of 20-25, 25-13, 25-14, 25-10.

For Indian River (3-8), Samantha Mumford had 7 aces and 16 assists, and Tiffany Rybicki had 6 kills and 7 aces.

Lake Forest 3, Seaford 0: The visiting Spartans won the match by scores of 25-18, 25-19, 25-9.

College soccer

WOMEN, Hofstra 3, Delaware 0: Delaware suffered a 3-0 CAA setback to host Hofstra Friday evening as the Pride got scoring from three different players and used a big shot advantage for the victory.

The Pride (12-4-1, 6-1-1 CAA), which is earning votes in the weekly NSCAA national Top 25 poll, won their second straight game and moved into sole possession of first place in the league standings with 19 points. The Pride put up 29 shots on the night and had eight corner kicks.

Delaware (7-8-2, 2-4-2 CAA) suffered its second straight shutout loss as the Hens managed just eight shots - four on goal - and had just three corner kicks.

The Delaware loss, coupled with Drexel’s 3-1 upset win over Northeastern Friday night, placed the Hens’ postseason hopes in jeopardy. The six-team CAA Tournament will begin Nov. 1.

Heading into the final day of the regular season Sunday, Delaware sits in seventh place in the league standings with eight points, one point behind Drexel and one point ahead of College of Charleston.
