Roundup: St. Thomas More beats Glasgow 2-0 in field hockey

St. Thomas More tallied a goal in each half in posting a 2-0 victory over Glasgow in nonconference field hockey on Monday afternoon.

Ellie Kim and Lily Fannin (1 assist) scored goals for the Ravens, who held a 12-1 edge in penalty corners.

St. Thomas More has won five games in a row to improve to 6-3.

Polytech 1, Caravel 0: Mackenzie Estrada’s first-half goal gave the Panthers the nonconference win.

Holly Rembold made 13 saves to earn the shutout for Polytech as the Buccaneers finished with advantages of 19-11 in shots and 14-8 in corners.

Lake Forest 4, Red Lion Christian 0: Grace Aguilar scored back-to-back, first-half goals as the Spartans (10-2-1) extended their unbeaten streak to eight games in a row.

Katelynn Brown and Julianna Tyndall also scored goals for Lake Forest with August Lewis making three saves to earn the shutout.

Delmarva Christian 2, Seaford 0: Leah Schlabach and Hannah Slacum both scored as the Royals picked up the victory.

Mara Agapito made eight saves as Delmarva Christian outshot the Blue Jays 12-8.

Brianna Jenkins made 10 saves for Seaford.

Boys’ soccer

Lake Forest 1, Howard 0: Noah Morrow’s overtime goal lifted the Spartans to the nonconferrence victory.

Sussex Tech 5, Worcester Prep 0: Joshua Artiga tallied a pair of first-half goals to spark the Ravens.

Eliel Gonzalez-Gomez, Byron Suarez-Garcia and Michael Barr also scored goals for Sussex Tech with Darvin Perez-Mendez making six saves.

Woodbridge 7, St. Thomas More 1: The Raiders netted six first-half goals in the nonconference win.

Benjamin Stant scored the lone goal for St. Thomas More.

Volleyball

Lake Forest 3, Sussex Tech 2: The Spartans won the final two sets to register the 17-25, 25-23, 22-25, 25-7, 15-7 victory.

College volleyball

Hens’ Roberts honored: Delaware freshman setter Courtnie Roberts was named the Colonial Athletic Association Volleyball Rookie of the Week on Monday.

Roberts led the Blue Hens with 60 assists, an average of 6.67 per set, while adding 18 digs and eight kills during Delaware’s victories over William & Mary and Elon last weekend.
