Dover High scored five runs in the first inning en route to a 10-0 win over Wilmington Charter in baseball on Saturday afternoon.

Winning pitcher Jordan Hutchins threw five shutout innings while Triston Harris went 3-for-3 with a homerun and two RBI for the Senators. Hutchins and Hiram Davis combined to pitch a six-inning two-hitter.

Tevin Thomas added a pair of RBI for the Senators (7-2), who had 10 hits in the game.

Sussex Tech 7, William Penn 2: Justin Hill allowed only four hits and no earned runs with five strikeouts in six innings as the Ravens evened their record at 4-4.

Colin Bergh (2-for-3, 1 RBI), Kyle Lux (2-for-3, 1 RBI, 1 run) and Justin Hill (2-for-4, 1 RBI, 2 runs) paced Sussex Tech, which had 12 hits.

Archmere 9, Polytech 1: The Auks’ Mike Dellose limited the Panthers to only four hits in the victory.

Carter Chasanov tripled and scored Polytech’s lone run in the sixth.

Delmar 10, Indian River 3: The Wildcats erupted for seven runs in the bottom of the sixth to break open a 3-3 tie in the Henlopen South contest.

Winning pitcher Jimmy Adkins struck out seven in six innings.

Ryan Engh and Joseph Anderson both homered for the Indians.

Woodbridge 23, St. Thomas More 0: The Raiders rolled to the nonconference victory.

Lacrosse

BOYS, Dover 9, Polytech 7: The Panthers rallied for three unanswered goals in the fourth quarter to post the Henlopen North win.

Milford 10, Newark 8: The Buccaneers overcame a 7-2 halftime deficit in earning the nonconference victory.

Dallas Rhodes (4 goals, 1 assist), Cohen Bonneville (3 goals, 2 assists), Mark Handerson (2 goals, 3 assists) and Elijah Kemp (1 goal) all scored for Milford. Goalie Clay Stevenson made 34 saves.

GIRLS, Caesar Rodney 15, St. Mark’s 10: Delaney Steele collected six goals and three assists as the Riders (4-2) won their third game in a row.

The contest was part of the Dave Reynolds Lacrosse Festival, played at Wesley College’s Miller Stadium.

Kourtney Olsen (2 goals) and Tara Daddio added three goals apiece for CR, which led 10-3 at halftime. Maegan Stewart (1 assist), Madeleine Card and Abigail McGowan scored the Riders’ other goals with Kaitlyn Longest making 16 saves.

Polytech 19, Middletown 1: Allie McKay (2 assists) netted six goals while her sister, Maddie (1 assist) had four as the Panthers (6-0) remained unbeaten.

Polytech also got multiple goals from Jamie Trabaudo (3 goals, 1 assist) and Camryn Dennis (2 goals) plus one each from Kate Richardson (3 assists), Caroline Hermance (2 assists), Morgan Cook (1 assist) and Eleanor Knapp.

The Panthers outshot the Cavaliers, 39-2.

St. Mary’s, Md. 12, Cape Henlopen 5: St. Mary’s, which is ranked 28th in its region, built a 10-3 lead before snapping the Vikings’ 12-game winning streak.

Lizzie Frederick had three goals for Cape with Eddy Shoop adding two. Izzy Cryne made 13 saves.

Smyrna 12, St. Thomas More 8: Kaila Hindt tallied six goals to pace the Eagles to the victory on Friday.

Maddie Price (3 goals, 2 assists), Julie Snow (2 goals) and Alison Sayers (1 goal) also led Smyrna while Gabrielle DiRusso making 13 saves.

Joanna Petrosky scored six goals for the Ravens, Jessica Crawford had two and Jessica Simmons made eight saves.

Softball

Woodbridge 4, Delmarva Christian 3: The Raiders overcame a 3-0, first-inning deficit to take the victory.

Brady Keeler had a double and an RBI for Woodbridge, which tied the contest with three runs in the fourth.

Royals pitcher Camryn Thompson threw a four-hitter and didn’t allow an earned run.

Girls’ soccer

Woodbridge 2, Laurel 0: Kelsey Eckert scored a first-half goal and Alyssa Burhop scored in the second half to lift the Raiders to the Henlopen South win.

College lacrosse

MEN, Delaware 10, Towson 7: The Blue Hens pulled off one of the bigger upsets of the men’s college lacrosse season as Delaware jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first two minutes and never trailed in knocking off No. 7 ranked Towson.

Delaware (5-8, 2-1 Colonial Athletic Association) moved back into the thick of the CAA race as junior Paul Major scored four goals and Steve DeLargy added two. Andrew Romagnoli and Dean DiSimone each added a goal and an assist and goalkeeper Parker Ferrigan (at left) made 11 stops.

The Hens snapped a four-game losing streak to the Tigers (10-2, 2-1 CAA), who had a five-game winning streak snapped and lost for the first time since a March 12 setback to Johns Hopkins.

College baseball

Northeastern 6, Delaware 3: Northeastern broke a 3-3 tie with two runs in the eighth and one more in the ninth to down the Blue Hens (4-7 CAA, 21-13) for the second straight day.

The Hens, who trailed 3-0, tied the game when second baseman Jeremy Ake lined a triple in the left-center field gap and scored off a two-out RBI single by Doug Trimble in the sixth. Delaware has lost five straight to Northeastern.

College softball

Hens split with Hofstra: Delaware softball team posted a 4-2 victory over Hofstra in the opener before the Pride recorded a 6-5 win in the nightcap.

The win snapped Delaware’s 27-game losing streak to Hofstra, as the Blue Hens (7-4 CAA, 25-14 overall) posted their first win over the Pride since 2006. Delaware remains in a tie for second place in the CAA standings with Elon.

College golf

Hens lead CAA tourney: The Delaware women’s golf squad fired a 298 round on Saturday to take the team lead, while Blue Hen senior Andi Slane moved into a tie for first place in the individual standings at the Colonial Athletic Association Championship.

Delaware, which entered the day tied for fourth place, carded the lowest team round of the day and holds a one-shot lead over UNCW heading into today’s final round. Slane, looking to defend her conference title, posted a one-under par 71, tied for the lowest on the day.
