Seaford High rolled to a 66-26 victory over St. Andrews on Friday night, snapping the Blue Jays’ 21-game losing streak in football.

The win was the first for Seaford (1-2) since a 12-6 victory over Moyer Academy to start the 2014 season.

Polytech 20, Delcastle 15: The Panthers (1-2) ended a 13-game losing streak of its own with the nonconference victory.

Polytech’s last win was on Oct. 31, 2014, when it finished 4-6.

Woodbridge 35, Wilmington Friends 7: The Raiders improved to 3-0 after pulling away to the nonconference win over the Quakers at home.

Cape Henlopen 40, Indian River 21: The Vikings bounced back from a shutout loss a week ago to improve to 2-1 with the nonconference win.

Caravel 45, Delmar 28: The Wildcats dropped their second game in a row to fall to 1-2.

Sussex Central 29, Queen Anne’s County, Md. 14: The Golden Knights (2-1) handed Queen Anne’s (3-1) its first loss of the season while avenging a 23-point loss from last season.

Laurel 59, Sussex Tech 28: The Bulldogs pulled off their second-straight upset to improve to 2-1.

Boys’ soccer

Polytech 1, Cape Henlopen 0: Marco Maddalena’s overtime goal on a penalty kick in the 97th minute lifted the Panthers to the Henlopen North victory on Thursday.

The win keeps Polytech undefeated at 2-0 North, 5-0 overall. The victory was also the Panthers’ first over Cape since before 2009.

Volleyball

Cape Henlopen 3, Polytech 0: The Vikings posted the closely-contested Henlopen North win by scores of 27-25, 25-17, 25-23 on Friday.

Leading Polytech were Emily Campbell (1 kill, 1 ace, 21 digs), Kelsey Hudson (6 kills, 2 aces, 8 digs) and Ashley Blaeuer (2 aces, 5 digs, 9 assists).

Indian River 3, Worcester Prep, Md. 0: The Indians took the nonconference match by scores of 25-9, 25-11, 25-17.

IR was paced by Julia Bomhardt (4 kills, 1 ace), McKenzie Johnson (2 kills, 6 aces, 5 assists) and Samantha Mumford (2 kills, 6 aces, 5 assists).

College field hockey

Delaware 3, Albany 1: Junior Emmeline Oltmans was clutch Friday evening as the No. 12 Blue Hens picked up the victory over No. 20 Albany at Rullo Stadium.

The goalie notched seven saves while shutting down the NCAA’s active career points leader in Paula Heuser, who finished the game with five shots on goal.

In total, the Great Danes (4-4) outshot Delaware, 11-6, but two penalty strokes from sophomore Greta Nauck and a goal from classmate Lisa Giezeman were enough to give the Hens (7-2) their second win over a ranked opponent this season.

College soccer

WOMEN, Delaware 2, Northeastern 1: After going through non-league play with a 1-8 record, the Blue Hens opened their Colonial Athletic Association schedule with an overtime win on Friday.

Senior Madison Brosler took a long pass from freshman Jillian Vassallo down the right side of the field and scored the game-winning goal just 2:11 into overtime to lift the Hens.

College volleyball

Wesley splits two matches: Wesley dropped its first match but came back to win in straight sets in their second contest on the first day of the Gallaudet Invitational.

Wesley took a 3-0 loss to Messiah but bounced back with a 3-0 sweep of Misericordia. With the split, Wesley moves to 8-5 on the season and will take on DeSales and Rutgers-Newark as part of the tournament today with matches beginning at 12:00 p.m.
