Brooks Parker scored three touchdowns to pace Delmar High to a 56-28 victory over Arcadia, Va. on Saturday afternoon.

The Wildcats won their third in a row to improve to 3-1. Jacob VonArx threw for a pair of touchdowns, a 65-yarder to Trey Parson and a five yard pass to Zachary Covington.

MEN, Southern Virginia 6, Wesley 3: Southern Virginia scored three goals in each half to down the Wolverines in a CAC contest.

Darius-David Robinson netted a pair of goals for Wesley. Chimaobi Ikwuagwu scored the other goal for the Wolverines.

Nicholas Hood recorded the lone Wesley assist.

Wesley dropped to 2-11 overall and 0-1 in the conference.

WOMEN, Southern Virginia 2, Wesley 0: The Wolverines only had one shot on goal and Southern Virginia scored twice in the final 15 minutes.

Sammy Williams had the only shot for Wesley who dropped to 3-7-1 and 0-1 in CAC play.

College volleyball

Christopher Newport 3, Wesley 0: The Wolverines dropped the CAC match 25-10, 25-16, 25-18 to the No. 24 ranked team in Division III.

Caelli Clifford paced the Wolverines with 19 digs and a kill from the libero position.

Jessica Tynes, Elisa Hackendorn, Tionne Graves-Brown and Mary Getty each notched four kills. Tynes and Graves-Brown also added five digs. Getty, Hackendorn and Codi Ziolkowski each blocked two attacks. Tania Rounds chipped in with three blocks.

Lindsay Burg handed out 11 assists, dug out five attacks and dropped in two service aces. Teaghen Vogelsang tallied 10 assists in the loss.

College field hockey

Christopher Newport 3, Wesley 0: The No. 10-ranked team downed the Wolverines in a CAC matchup.

The Wesley defense and Bridget Wood played well for the Wolverines, holding the Captains to 22 shots on net. Wood picked up 19 saves on the day.

Kasey Fry tallied a shot on goal while Morgan Gannon and Jessica Behornar also recorded a shot for the Wolverines.

Courtney Fiest had two goals for the Captains.

Women’s cross country

Hens second at own invitational: Jeanette Bendolph led the Blue Hens with a fourth place finish in the six-kilometer race as she covered the course in 23:56.50 at the Blue & Gold Invitational on Saturday at White Clay Creek State Park.

Bendolph, who raced in this event for the third year in a row, placed two positions better than her sixth place finish last year in a strong field.

Delaware placed second out of the four teams finishing with 42 points. Seton Hall won the team title with 23 points.

Delaware had two other top 10 finishers in the race, Leanza Lopez (24:47.59) and Kathleen Dailey (24:47.89). Other runners cracking the top 20 for Delaware were Ashley Warokomski (25:07.05), Madeline Berman (25:10.49), Valerie Romero (25:11.87), and Molly Doyle (25:20.80).

Women’s golf

UD in third at Yale: Delaware carded a 293 as a team on Saturday to move into a tie for third on the second day of the Yale Invitational.

UD sophomore Ariane Klotz shot a two over par 73 on the par 71, 6,008-yard Yale Golf Course on Saturday, ending the day tied for ninth place in the individual standings with a five over par 74-73-147. Classmate Isabella Rimton fired an 80 during her second round of the tournament and is tied for 20th place at 70-80-150, eight over par.

Valentina Mueller and Josefina Fernandez-Davila each carded the lowest rounds of the day by a Blue Hen, as both players recorded a one over par 72 and are tied for 29th place with a nine over par 79-72-151. Kylie Greulich, playing as an individual, is tied for 40th place with an 11 over par 74-79-153, while Ashley Dingman is tied for 46th place with a 12 over par 154.
